Comparing the dimensions of aggression in adolescent athletes and non-athletes divorced families

The purpose of this study was to compare the dimensions of aggression (physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger and hostility) in adolescent athletes and non-athletes was divorced families.30 adolescent volunteers who aged 11-13 years were assigned in athletes (n=15) and non-athletes (n=15) groups. Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire for data collection were used. Data Analysis was performed using independent t-test statistical method. Significance level of the test was considered P≤0.05.Research results showed significant differences in overall aggression (p=0.0001) and anger (p=0.0001), but no significant differences were observed between the two groups in physical aggression (p=0.203), verbal (p=0.504) and hostility (p=0.440). According to these findings it can be concluded that participating in sports can have a significant influence on dimensions of aggression.
